The SPES Project at the ECDN 2026 Annual Conference

SPES project presented in Strasbourg

The collaboration between the Bar Association and ECDN in tackling over-indebtedness continues even after the end of the project activities. On 14 April, the Perugia Bar Association took part in the Annual Conference of the European Consumer Debt Network (ECDN), hosted at the European Parliament in Strasbourg and this year dedicated to gambling as a social problem and its impact on the risk of over-indebtedness. On that occasion, the work carried out by the Project Partners under the SPES Project (Support for Preventing Exclusion from Social life caused by over-indebtedness) was presented. The resulting article, published in issue 21

2026 of the Money Matters magazine, describes in particular the SPES Risk Index: a tool designed to help frontline operators recognise early signs of financial vulnerability — including those linked to gambling — before the situation becomes difficult to manage.
