The Chint Group, one of the world’s leading providers of integrated energy and power supply solutions, is exploring ways to expand its European value chain and supply chain through potential investments in Germany. The company is focusing in particular on manufacturing and recycling capacities for key technologies related to the energy transition, including PV module recycling, medium-voltage transformers, and inverters.
Against the backdrop of the growing importance of resilient supply chains and greater local value creation, Chint is currently analyzing various potential investment locations in Europe. Saxony-Anhalt is among the favored locations due to its central location in Germany, its industrial infrastructure, and its economic policy framework.
Since June 2026, Chint has been engaged in intensive discussions with the state government of Saxony-Anhalt regarding this matter. The talks are being personally overseen and supported by Minister President Sven Schulze. Minister President Sven Schulze: “The fact that Saxony-Anhalt is among the preferred locations in the Chint Group’s investment considerations sends a strong signal about our business environment and confirms that we are on the right track. We are committed to a strong industrial sector, reliable framework conditions, and swift decision-making. This is exactly what companies expect when they want to make long-term investments and create jobs. To that end, we will work closely with Chint throughout the rest of the decision-making process and vigorously promote Saxony-Anhalt as a business location. I am convinced that our state has the best conditions to be a leading industrial hub for the energy transition in Europe.”
During the discussions to date, representatives of the Chint Group have been able to gain a comprehensive understanding of the state’s locational advantages. In addition to the logistical and infrastructural conditions, the company particularly values the investment-friendly framework conditions and the state government’s business-oriented approach. Chint views Minister President Sven Schulze’s personal commitment to attracting international industrial companies and strengthening Saxony-Anhalt as an industrial hub as a key factor in long-term investment decisions.
Oliver Schweininger, Managing Director of Chint Solar Europe GmbH, explains: “For Chint, investment security, reliable political and economic conditions, and competent points of contact are essential prerequisites for long-term location decisions. Discussions to date with representatives of the state government have shown us that Saxony-Anhalt offers excellent conditions for future industrial investments.”
The location analysis currently underway represents the first phase of the investment process. By the end of the year, Chint intends to further refine the economic and technical feasibility of a potential investment project and finalize the selection of potential locations.
By expanding its European supply chain, the Chint Group aims to strengthen the supply of the European market in the long term, shorten transportation routes, sustainably increase the resilience of supply chains, and create additional industrial value in Europe. At the same time, the planned investments are intended to make a substantial contribution to the successful implementation of the European energy transition.
