DKSH acquires Thai API distributor P.R. Chemicals

Bangkok - DKSH Holding AG is set to complete the full takeover of P.R. Chemicals, a Thai distributor of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). With this acquisition, the Zurich-based group is expanding its business in the area of APIs and increasing its customer base in Thailand.

( CONNECT ) DKSH has signed an agreement to fully acquire P.R. Chemicals from Bangkok. Founded in 1984, the company distributes active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to pharmaceutical manufacturers in Thailand. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, as detailed in a statement . No details regarding the purchase price have been publicly disclosed.

DKSH intends to fully integrate P.R. Chemicals in its existing activities and expand the current pharma offering of its Performance Materials business unit in Thailand. Moreover, the transaction is expected to present new opportunities for the distribution of additional products to existing customers. “The acquisition of P.R. Chemicals marks another milestone in the growth of our pharmaceutical portfolio”, according to Natale Capri, who heads up the DKSH Performance Materials business unit.

P.R. Chemicals supplies more than 100 customers across various therapeutic areas, including pain management, nutritional health, infectious diseases and cardiovascular and inflammatory conditions. The company employs 27 staff and generated net sales of over 11 million Swiss francs in 2025. “We believe DKSH is the right long-term home for our business, our employees, and our partners”, comments Managing Director Peerut Sunirand.

The DKSH Performance Materials business unit distributes specialty chemicals and ingredients for the food and pharmaceutical industry, personal care sector, in addition to various industrial applications. In total, 1,830 people are employed by the business unit, which generated net sales of 1.4 billion Swiss francs in 2025. ce
