2026 CSV South American Beach Volleyball Championship: Teams, schedule and how to watch LA28 qualifier live

The men’s and women’s champions of South America will clinch a berth for the Olympic beach volleyball competition in two years - who will triumph in João Pessoa?

Two teams will earn a quota spot for LA28 at the 2026 CSV South American Beach Volleyball Championship (3-6 September).

The Brazilian city of João Pessoa is the continental gateway to the Olympic Games, as the men’s and women’s champions of South America will secure a quota for the Olympic beach volleyball competition in two years.

With 16 teams per gender competing for just one spot, competition will be rife, not least from Brazil’s reigning Olympic women’s gold medallists: Ana Patrícia Silva Ramos and Eduarda Santos Lisboa, ‘Duda’ .

The Youth Olympic champions became Olympic champions at Paris 2024 and will aim to become the first back-to-back victors since Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings , who clinched a threepeat between Athens 2004 and London 2012 .

Two of the three top-ranked women’s teams in the world will be competing on home sand: world No. 1 pair Carolina Solberg Salgado and Rebecca Cavalcante , and Thâmela and Victoria ‘Vic’ .

On the men’s side, Three-time Olympian Evandro Oliveira and Brazilian compatriot Arthur Mariano Lanci are the team to beat as the third-highest ranked team in the world rankings. A year ago, they won the João Pessoa Elite title – can they find their best form again at Cabo Branco?
