The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 brings together 16 of the world's leading national teams in Berlin, Germany, with the world title and a place at the Olympic Games LA28 at stake. Discover the full schedule, game scores, and group standings here.

The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 takes place in Berlin, Germany, from 4-13 September .

The tournament returns to a 16-team field for the first time since 2018, after 12 teams competed at the 2022 edition in Sydney. A total of 36 games will be played across the Berlin Arena and Max-Schmeling-Halle in the German capital.

The world champions will also secure direct qualification for the women's basketball tournament at the Olympic Games LA28 . The USA already have a place as Olympic hosts.

FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 - Format

The 16 teams are divided into four groups of four, with each nation facing the other 3 teams in its group once.

The winner of each group advances directly to the quarter-finals , while the second- and third-placed teams enter a single-elimination Qualification to the Quarter-Finals round, with crossover matchups between Groups A and B and Groups C and D.

The four winners complete the quarter-final line-up, with the remainder of the tournament – the quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place game, and final – also played in a single-elimination format.
