1.1. Overview The present call for proposal (Call for Proposal) with its annexes provides the Applicants with the terms and conditions to be respected in order to submit a proposal and participate in the grant procedure. NOTA BENE: Interested parties are invited to read carefully everything below in order to ensure that applications are complete and compliant with the call for proposal’s terms and conditions when submitted. 1.2. EUSPA’s mission is, inter alia, to be the user-oriented operational Agency of the EU Space Programme, contributing to sustainable growth, security and safety of the European Union. The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) provides an augmentation service to the Global Positioning System (GPS) Standard Positioning Service (SPS). EGNOS will augment both GPS and Galileo in the future, using L1 and L5 (1176.45 MHz) frequencies. The EGNOS Safety of Life (SoL) assisted service for Maritime users (ESMAS), was declared operational in 2024. It is provided openly and is freely accessible without any direct charge. The ESMAS offers a service tailored to maritime users to enable marine navigation in harbour entrances, harbour approaches and coastal waters of the European Union Member States and EGNOS contributing countries (Iceland, Norway and Switzerland) in line with IMO Resolution A.10462. The service is described in the applicable ESMAS Service Definition Document (SDD)3.
