More tickets released for 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship

Around 17,000 additional tickets for the 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship in Germany go on general sale from 4 September, giving fans another opportunity to secure seats for matches across the preliminary and main rounds of the world handball flagship competition.

With the tournament now less than five months away, demand is already high, with 75 per cent of all available tickets sold. The latest release follows participating nations not taking up their full ticket allocations, making around 17,000 additional tickets available to the general public.

Tickets will go on sale from 12:00 noon on 4 September through the official ticket shop at handball2027.com , covering matches in all six host cities: Munich , Magdeburg , Stuttgart , Kiel , Cologne and Ha n over. The release includes fixtures from all preliminary and main round groups, as well as Germany’s matches in the preliminary round and, should the hosts qualify, the main round.

The final weekend in Cologne is excluded from this ticket release, while demand for Germany’s matchdays has led to a limit of five tickets per person per matchday for those fixtures, helping ensure a fair distribution.

The latest availability will also give international supporters the chance to secure tickets for some of the tournament’s most anticipated preliminary round storylines, with all the powerhouses of the world colliding in one competition to have the chance to secure the coveted title retained by Denmark over the last four editions, in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025.

“We are seeing huge demand for tickets across all matches at our home World Championship,” said German Handball Federation (DHB) CEO Mark Schober. “We have already reached an overall occupancy rate of 75 percent, which shows just how much excitement there is ahead of this World Championship.”

The 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship will take place from 13 to 31 January 2027, with Germany hosting matches in six cities. The competition will bring the world’s leading men’s national teams together across the preliminary and main rounds before the final weekend in Cologne.
