WEYTEC launches fully configurable keypad for control rooms

03.09.2026, 17:37 Uhr Unterengstringen - WEYTEC is launching smartKEYS, a new keypad designed for control rooms and trading floors. All 15 keys feature their own display and can be assigned specific functions or even entire workflows, while the device can be retrofitted in existing workstations as well.

( CONNECT ) The Wey Group AG ( WEYTEC ), a specialist for smart control room solutions based in Unterengstringen in the Swiss canton of Zurich, is expanding its product range with the addition of the new smartKEYS keypad. According to a statement, this is designed for workplaces where repetitive processes must be executed quickly, for example in control centers, air traffic control facilities or trading rooms.

Each of the 15 fully customizable keys features its own LCD display that shows the assigned function using text and icons and provides visual confirmation in color when the function is executed. The assigned functions can be changed according to the task at hand. In addition to individual functions, entire workflows can be assigned to a single key, which allows users to switch sources, recall screen layouts, toggle video walls or launch macros.

Given that frequently used functions can be activated directly via a button rather than through an on-screen menu, the data displayed on the work screen remains visible during operation. “Our customers are able to assign their most important workflows to buttons that are immediately understood by everyone, allowing new operators to work confidently from day one”, as Chief Commercial Officer Dirk Hendrickx states.

Designed for continuous operation, the keypad can be integrated into new and existing WEYTEC systems and is compatible with the platforms WDP MX, smartVISUAL plus and smartUX plus. Moreover, a new adapter card facilitates the retrofitting of workstations that have been in use for years, without having to modify the existing solution. ce
