CV Labs launches global support program for fintech start-ups

04.09.2026, 11:53 Uhr Zug - CV Labs has launched the Stellar x CV Labs Accelerator. This will primarily be geared towards supporting start-ups from Africa, Europe and the United Arab Emirates that are seeking to build the infrastructure for cross-border payments and other global financial services on the blockchain platform Stellar.

( CONNECT ) CV Labs has activated the Stellar x CV Labs Accelerator . The globally focused accelerator platform has selected ten start-ups that, according to a statement, are already tackling major problems in the global financial sector using the Stellar blockchain platform. CV Labs is the ecosystem-building arm of the Zug-based venture capital firm CV VC . Its board of directors includes Chairman Philipp Rickenbacher, formerly CEO of the Swiss multinational private banking and financial services firm Julius Baer, and Philipp Rösler, a former Vice-Chancellor of Germany.

Olaf Hannemann co-founded both companies. In his words, the program should help to accelerate the commercial growth of the start-ups by facilitating “access to world-class mentors, strategic partners, investors and two of the strongest global blockchain ecosystems, Switzerland’s Crypto Valley and the UAE, as well as what we consider the most attractive emerging market for our tech stack, Africa”.

The ten companies selected by the Stellar x CV Labs Accelerator are: Crebit Pay (USA), DeFa by InvoiceMate (UAE), Janus (Germany), JoonaPay (Côte d’Ivoire), Kutana (Ghana), Remi (UAE), Saleem (UAE), Sly (USA), Sorted (Hong Kong) and Yolat (Nigeria). The accelerator started out with a two-week bootcamp at the CV Labs location in Cape Town, where the start-up founders met with CV VC CEO Mathias Ruch and CV VC’s Africa team.

According to the statement, the Stellar x CV Labs Accelerator was set up at a time when the blockchain-based financial infrastructure is moving further into institutional markets. As the statement explains further, for Switzerland this transition is of particular relevance. After all, the “combination of global financial expertise, early regulatory clarity, specialist service providers and one of the world’s largest concentrations of blockchain companies gives Switzerland’s Crypto Valley a distinctive position in the global development of digital financial infrastructure”. ce
