Softball Canada announces roster for WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup 2027

Softball Canada announced the 16 athletes who have been selected to represent Canada at the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup 2027 . The tournament will take place from 18 to 26 June, 2027, in Havlíčkův Brod and Ledenice, Czechia.

“Congratulations to the athletes who have been selected to represent Canada at the upcoming U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup in Czechia” stated Gilles LeBlanc, Manager of Operations at Softball Canada. “The quality and depth of the talent pool in this age category is as high as we have seen in a long time, and our coaching staff is very excited to work with these athletes to develop their game further and be ready to compete for a World title.”

A selection camp was held in Napanee, Ontario last month following the U-17 Men’s Canadian Championship held in Surrey, British Colombia and the coaching staff has been scouting and tracking athletes over the last two years in preparation for the World Cup.

Canada qualified for the World Cup 2027 - along with Argentina, Mexico and Venezuela - with a bronze medal performance at the 2025 WBSC Americas Pan American Championship , which was held in Bahia Blanca, Argentina last October.

The red and white also won the bronze medal at the previous WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup held in Hermosillo, Mexico in 2023, which represented their sixth bronze medal overall to join their two silver and one gold medal, which was won in 1993 in Auckland, New Zealand.

With its nine medals, Canada are the second most successful team at the WBSC U-18 Men's Softball World Cup after Japan, who have claimed 12 medals and ahead of Australia and New Zealand with seven medals each.
