Prof. Dr. med. Jens Wippermann, Director of the University Clinic for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery in Magdeburg, and Dr. med. Udo Barth, Head of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the University Clinic for General, Visceral, Vascular, and Transplant Surgery in Magdeburg , cordially invite you to this professional exchange. Together, they have organized the symposium and look forward to an interdisciplinary dialogue with experts from various fields. The 8th Magdeburg Aortic Symposium is dedicated to current treatment options in aortic surgery .

The goal of the symposium is to shed light on current developments in aortic surgery, to present innovative surgical and endovascular treatment options , and to promote interdisciplinary exchange between cardiac and vascular surgery as well as other relevant disciplines. The focus will be on complex clinical pictures, new therapeutic approaches, and individualized patient care.
The symposium will begin with opening remarks by Prof. Wippermann and Dr. Barth. The program will then address topics such as “The Aorta: The New Organ.” Following a discussion, the focus will shift to endovascular treatment options for complex thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms. Another round of discussion will follow, before the presentation titled “Aortic Surgery Near the Heart.” The event will conclude with a joint closing session.
