Accelerating Propulsion Innovation: Elkton Propulsion Innovation Center Opening​ | Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman has opened its new Propulsion Innovation Center on the company’s 550-acre Elkton, Maryland campus, representing a major investment in its propulsion portfolio. The 57,000-square-foot facility will bring together engineers focused on developing advanced solid rocket motors and air-breathing propulsion technologies, including hypersonic applications, for U.S. and allied defense customers.

Accelerating innovation: The Propulsion Innovation Center provides a dedicated engineering hub designed to accelerate the development of advanced solid rocket motors and air-breathing propulsion technologies, helping move new capabilities from concept to delivery faster.

Building on a propulsion legacy: The new center increases onsite solid rocket motor and advanced propulsion design and manufacturing capacity. Across its propulsion portfolio, Northrop Grumman has delivered more than 1.3 million solid rocket motors.
