Nioumachoi win men’s volleyball title in the Comoros; fourth straight title
Volleyball crowns handed out in Comoros, Maldives and Philippines – FIVB
Nioumachoi triumphed as men’s volleyball champions of the Comoros for the fourth time in a row. In the final played at the Plateau Omnisport in Nioumachoi on August 29, they won the first two sets against Itsandra, but the opponents levelled up to push the match to a tie-breaker, which Nioumachoi won by 15-11 to celebrate a 3-2 victory.
The women’s Maldives Cup final (pictured in the main photo; source: Volleyball Association of Maldives) was played in the capital Male on Monday, September 7. WAMCO Male triumphed with the trophy after a 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-13, 25-18) victory over Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Male. Earlier in the day, the third-place match was held. Police Club Ameenee Magu defeated Huraa Community by an emphatic 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-20) to bring home bronze. WAMCO’s 31-year-old setter Fathimath Joozan Zareer was honored as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the competition.
Thailand’s Est Cola Bangkok triumphed as champions of the Philippines’ 2026 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference. In Tuesday’s final at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, they mastered a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-19) shutout of Nxled Chameleons Manila. In the bronze medal game played at the same venue earlier in the day, PLDT High Speed Hitters Manila produced a 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22) win over Creamline Cool Smashers Pasig to complete the podium. Est Cola’s 20-year-old Thai opposite Papatchaya Phontham earned the MVP recognition.
