From Supply Chain to Schultüte: Delivering a Special Start to the School Year
DP World worked with consumer brands and local partners to prepare 300 Schultüten for children starting primary school in Germany and Austria, bringing together a much-loved tradition, our consumer expertise and our commitment to education.
For generations, children in Germany and Austria have marked their first day at primary school with a Schultüte, a colourful cone filled with sweets, school supplies and small surprises.
This year, we are joining the tradition.
Together with well-known confectionery and food brands, our partners and colleagues, we are preparing 300 Schultüten for children starting school across Germany and Austria.
The initiative is closely connected to the work we do every day with consumer and FMCG brands. By bringing together our customers, partners and colleagues, it reflects the relationships we have built across the industry, while creating an opportunity to support the communities where we operate.
It also contributes towards our wider commitment to education, helping young people access opportunities and take positive first steps towards their future.
From everyday products to complex supply chains
The products inside a Schultüte may be familiar, but getting consumer goods into people’s hands depends on increasingly complex supply chains.
Demand changes with seasons, promotions, cultural events and consumer trends. FMCG businesses need to respond quickly while managing inventory, transport, warehousing and distribution across different markets and channels.
We bring together ports and terminals, freight forwarding, warehousing, transport and market access to help consumer brands manage more of that journey through one connected network.
Our FMCG capabilities range from food-grade warehousing and value-added services to extensive last-mile and route-to-market networks in key growth markets.
Bringing brands and communities together
For our Back-to-School initiative, products contributed by consumer brands are brought together, packed into Schultüten and distributed to participating schools. coordination, strong partnerships and getting products to the right place at the right time.
Above all, it gives our teams and customers an opportunity to support the communities where we work, while helping make an important milestone a little more memorable for 300 children. 300 Schultüten. 300 first days of school. And a tradition we’re proud to be part of.
