Juli 2026 voestalpine eröffnet neue Produktionsanlage in den USA Die voestalpine hat, wie berichtet, ihre Produktionskapazitäten an ihrem Standort Jeffersonville im US-Bundesstaat Indiana verdoppelt. Die neue Anlage zur Produktion hochqualitativer Längsträger für Lastkraftwagen wurde nun feierlich eröffnet. Mit der Investition von rund 70 Mio. EUR (80 Mio. USD) stärkt der weltweit tätige Stahl- und Technologiekonzern seine Marktposition im nordamerikanischen Nutzfahrzeugsektor. Die Anlage befindet sich aktuell in der Hochlaufphase, die Vollproduktion wird für Mitte 2027 erwartet. Mit dem Ausbau der Produktionskapazitäten entstehen insgesamt 110 neue Arbeitsplätze. Die neue Produktionsanlage fertigt Längsträger für Lastwagen der Klassen 6, 7 und 8. Dabei handelt es sich um zentrale strukturelle Komponenten für die Zugmaschinen von Sattelschleppern. Mit den zusätzlichen Kapazitäten wird die voestalpine langfristige Lieferverträge mit renommierten nordamerikanischen Lkw-Hersteller:innen erfüllen und baut ihre Position als führende Anbieterin von hochqualitativen Spezialrohren und -profilen für die Nutzfahrzeugindustrie weiter aus. Die Produktionskapazität des Standorts wird dadurch auf insgesamt 80.000 Tonnen verdoppelt. „Mit der neuen Produktionsanlage am Standort Indiana, USA stärken wir unsere Position in einem strategisch wichtigen Markt und setzen unsere erfolgreiche Local-for-local-Strategie konsequent fort. EUR erweitert die voestalpine ihren bestehenden Standort in Jeffersonville um rund 15.000 Quadratmeter Produktionsfläche. Neben der Errichtung der neuen Halle umfasste die Erweiterung auch die Anschaffung modernster Produktionsanlagen für die Fertigung von hochqualitativen Längsträgern. „Die hohe Kundennachfrage bestätigt unseren strategischen Ansatz, unsere globale Expertise in der Herstellung komplexer Spezialprofile für die Nutzfahrzeugindustrie mit einer starken lokalen Präsenz zu verbinden und innovative Produkte in höchster Qualität direkt vor Ort anzubieten. The new facility for the production of high-quality longitudinal beams for trucks has now been officially opened. With an investment of approximately EUR 70 million (USD 80 million), the international steel and technology group is strengthening its market position in the North American commercial vehicle sector. The plant is currently in the start-up phase with full production expected by mid-2027. The expansion of production capacity will create a total of 110 new jobs. The new production facility produces longitudinal beams for class 6, 7, and 8 trucks. These are key structural components used in the tractor units of semi-trailer trucks. With this additional capacity, voestalpine will fulfill long-term supply contracts with renowned North American truck manufacturers and further expand its position as a leading supplier of high-quality special pipes and profiles for the commercial vehicle industry. The production capacity of the site will be doubled to a total of 80,000 tons. “With the new production facility in Indiana, USA, we are strengthening our position in a strategically important market and consistently continuing our successful local-for-local strategy. Investment creates new jobs and growth With an investment of approximately EUR 70 million, voestalpine is expanding its existing Jeffersonville site by approximately 15,000 square meters of production space.
