Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) arranges Liquin refinancing in the Netherlands; Long-term capital structure to fund growth

Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) arranges Liquin refinancing in the Netherlands; Long-term capital structure to fund growth Hamburg Commercial Bank supports refinancing of Liquin - HCOB Hamburg Commercial Bank supports refinancing of Liquin HAMBURG LONDON – Hamburg Commercial Bank AG (HCOB) is acting as arranger and lender in the refinancing of Liquin, a leading chemical and biofuel tank storage and infrastructure platform in the Netherlands. Liquin is an investment of Infracapital Partners IV, a fund focused on essential European mid-market assets. Liquin operates a portfolio of three tank terminals in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region, with approximately 1.4 million cubic metres of storage capacity. The strategically located terminals are situated in the Port of Rotterdam, Europe’s leading refinery cluster, and provide essential storage and logistics infrastructure for a broad range of products. The facilities benefit from comprehensive multimodal infrastructure for ocean-going vessels and barges, as well as connections to pipelines, road and rail, making them an important part of European supply chains. Liquin was acquired by Infracapital in 2023 and is well positioned to address evolving market requirements, including the storage needs for new energy products and sustainable feedstocks as well as circular chemical value chains. The refinancing provides Liquin with a long-term capital structure, supporting its ongoing operations, investments and strategic growth ambitions. The transaction reflects lender confidence in high-quality infrastructure assets with a strategic relevance to the European economy. “We are delighted to support the refinancing of Liquin’s debt facilities and to continue our long-standing relationship with the company and its investor Infracapital. Liquin has established itself as a leading storage platform in the strategically important ARA region, underpinned by high-quality infrastructure assets and long-standing customer relationships,” said Marco Schweer, Executive Director, Infrastructure & Energy Finance at Hamburg Commercial Bank. “Financing infrastructure facilities is part of our core business. We are pleased to further strengthen our long-term business relationship with this transaction and to support the Liquin’s growth ambitions,” said Hans Lötzer, Head of Project Finance at HCOB. Adam Spencer, Director at Infracapital, said: “This refinancing is an important milestone for Liquin and reflects the significant progress achieved since our acquisition in 2023. Our focus as a shareholder is on creating the conditions for sustainable, long-term growth – and this financing solution gives us exactly the platform to do that.” “With this stable funding base now in place, we are well-positioned to invest in our future, accelerate our growth, and deliver even greater value to our customers,” said Linda Kraakman, Finance Director at Liquin.“We would like to thank the consortium, including Hamburg Commercial Bank’s expert team, for the constructive and trust-based collaboration throughout the process.” About Hamburg Commercial Bank Hamburg Commercial Bank AG (HCOB) is a private commercial bank headquartered in Hamburg that specialises in tailor-made financing solutions for German and European companies.
