Meret convened the session Redox Controls on Contaminant and Nutrient Cycling Across Scales , which brought together contributions on how redox processes drive element cycling, mineral transformation, and organic matter turnover across Earth’s critical zone. The session focused on translating molecular-scale mechanisms of electron transfer and mineral–organic matter coupling into an understanding of dynamic, spatially and temporally variable redox conditions in real environments, spanning contaminant and nutrient mobility, greenhouse gas fluxes, and new analytical and modeling approaches that connect laboratory, field, and global scales. ...
