Dass OB-Wahlen Persönlichkeitswahlen sind wurde einmal mehr deutlich: Die Herausforderin Monika Stein, wie bereits 2018 die einzige Frau im Bewer- ber*innenfeld, wurde zwar von der Hälfte des Ge- meinderats unterstützt, errang aber nur ein Viertel der Stimmen. Der Wahlsieger Horn hatte dagegen nur ein Fünftel des Gemeinderats im Rücken. Der positive Trend bei der Wahlbeteiligung setzte sich auch bei der OB-Wahl fort. Im Vergleich der ba- den-württembergischen Großstädte liegt die Freibur- ger OB-Wahlbeteiligung aktuell sogar an der Spitze. Der Wahlsieger erreichte in allen Stadtbezirken mehr als 40 % Stimmenanteil. Seine besten Ergebnisse mit jeweils deutlich über 60 % wurden in den Ortschaften am Tuniberg, in Lehen und Hochdorf vermeldet. Horns Herausforderin Monika Stein konnte dagegen nur in den Stadtbezirken Vauban und Altstadt-Ring die meisten Stimmen einfahren. Insbesondere in den Tuniberg-Gemeinden fielen ihre Ergebnisse gering aus. Aus organisatorischer Sicht lief alles reibungslos, ob- wohl die Vorbereitung der OB-Wahl in die heiße Phase der Landtagswahl fiel und bei der Briefwahl und der Zahl der Unterstützungsunterschriften für die Kandidierenden neue OB-Wahl-Rekorde erreicht wurden. ...
